About Us

I am a mother of two beautiful girls.  Both of them have Type 1 Diabetes and are currently on insulin pumps.  'Level Living' was created out of necessity for medical identification for them.

So, how did it all start?  Courtney was diagnosed when she was just 2 years old.  By the time she was diagnosed she was in ketoacidosis and close to a coma.  She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, Royal Brisbane Hospital at Herston.

Courtney is now 11 years old.  She manages her diabetes everyday with the help of a "purple" pump whereas before she was injecting up to 5 times per day.  Our other daughter, Sophie is now 8 and was diagnosed in December 2008.  Sophie is also on an insulin pump and chose the "blue" coloured one.

Along with some diabetes accessories, I am trying to raise the awareness and importance of medical id.  You may have seen me on 'Brisbane Extra' trying to do just that.  A lot of people did not realise they should be wearing medical ID.  Feel free to look at our range and if you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

ABOUT THE LOGO: With illnesses/diseases you have highs and lows, like life has ups and downs.  That's why you need to find the middle ground.  The red dots resemble blood for health (in particular if you have diabetes from blood pricks from testing).  The line in the middle is the balance from one test to another, that's 'Level Living' - the balance between the highs and the lows!!
